Welcoming a new baby into the world is a magical and fleeting time. As a newborn photographer, I understand the importance of capturing these precious early days with beautiful, timeless images. If you’re considering booking a newborn session with me, here’s a step-by-step guide to my process and what you can expect.
Step 1: Inquiry
Your journey begins with an inquiry through my website, email, or social media. Fill out the contact form on our website with details about your session. Once I receive your inquiry, I'll reach out via email to discuss the details and select the perfect date for your session.
Step 2: Booking & Securing Your Date
After finalizing the details, you'll receive a contract to review and sign it online. A 100$ non-refundable retainer is required to secure your session date. Since newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first two weeks of life, I recommend booking your session while you’re still pregnant. Once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize the exact session date. However, if you haven’t booked in advance, you can still contact me after your baby arrives to check my availability.
Step 3: Preparing for Your Session
You'll receive a questionnaire and a Welcome guide with tips on how to get your baby ready, what to bring, and what to expect on the day of your session. I offer a curated selection of boutique props, wraps, and outfits, so you don’t need to worry about bringing anything unless you have a sentimental item you’d like to include.
Step 4: The Session Day - Relax and Enjoy!
On the day of your session, we create a cozy, stress-free environment so you can sit back while we work our magic. Newborn sessions take place in my cozy in-home studio in Woodbury, MN, where I create a calm, warm, and soothing environment for both baby and parents. Sessions typically last 2-3 hours to allow for feeding, soothing, and capturing a variety of poses. Your baby’s safety and comfort are my top priorities, and I am trained in newborn safety to ensure a relaxed experience.
Step 5: Proof Gallery - Preview Your Images
Within one week after your session you’ll receive a private online gallery to view and select your favorite images. I also offer premium printed products, including albums, folio boxes, and wall art, to help you preserve these cherished moments.
Step 6: Delivery of Your Final Images
Once you’ve made your selections, I finalize the edits and prepare your images for delivery. 2-3 weeks after you’ve made your selections, your beautifully edited images will be ready for download and sharing and if you’ve ordered prints or albums, they will be ready to pick up or delivery 4-6 weeks after your selection.
